Joey: No way, I’ve been going to the guy for twelve years.
Chandler: Oh come on, he said he was going to do my inseam, then he ran his hand up my leg and then there was definite…
Ross: What? (Chandler closes his eyes)
Chandler: Cupping.
Joey: That’s how they do pants! First they go up one side, they move it over, then they go up the other side then they move it back, and then they do the rear. Ross, will you tell him. Isn’t that how a tailor measures pants?
Ross: Yes, yes it is… in prison!
Oh my god Joey.
No, you hang up!
Joey: Can we see her? Phoebe: Your hair looks too good, I think it would just upset her. Ross, why don’t you come on in.
Chandler: (Rubbing his temples) Oh, no-no-no-no-no…
Joey: That’s good, just keep rubbing your head. That’ll turn back time.
Oh Chandler…
Joey: If I wanna get the money, I’m not allowed to conduct any personal experiments, if you know what I mean. Monica: Joey, we always know what you mean.
Phoebe: Nuh-uh. I don’t think any of our lives are ever gonna be the same ever again. Chandler: Okay, is there a mute button on this woman?
Well, given that he’s desperately in love with you, he probably wouldn’t mind getting a cup of coffee or something.
Monica: Oh, from who? Rachel: From you. I exchanged the blouse you got me.
Chandler: Men are here! Joey: We make fire! Cook meat! Chandler: Then put out fire by peeing, no get invited back!
I hope you guys are enjoying my content! Let me know down in the comments!
Chandler: Joe… Joe… Joe… Stalin?
Joey: Stalin! Stalin. Do I know that name? It sounds familiar.
Chandler: Well, it does not ring a bell with me!
Joey: Joe Stalin. You know, that’s pretty good!
Chandler: Hey, you know, you might wanna try Joseph.
Joey: Joseph Stalin. I think you’d remember that!
Seriously Joey…
Monica: Okay, do you see anybody you think could be me? Teacher: People! Last time there were some empty yogurt containers lying around after class. Let’s not have that happen again! Rachel: She could be you.
Monica: Did you ever feel like sometimes you are just so unbelievably uncoordinated? (Rachel taps with everyone else perfectly in sync) Rachel: What? You just click when they click.
Joey: You know there already is a Joseph Stalin?! Chandler: You’re kidding! Joey: Apparently he was this Russian dictator who slaughtered all these people. You’d think you would’ve known that! Chandler: Ya know, you’d think I would have.
Ross: But that might just be a pipe dream, because, ya know, he’s out of state. Uh, my vet, uh, knows someone at Miami, so that’s a possibility. Chandler: Yeah, but that’s like two blocks away from the beach. I mean, it’s a total party zoo.
The One With Mrs. Bing. In this episode Chandler’s mom comes to visit him and the rest of the gang, and she ends up kissing a drunk Ross. This causes much havoc within Chandler and his rocky relationship with his mom. Now even though this could definitely be enough to fill up a single episode, Phoebe and Monica also manage to cause a car accident, sending a guy they both think is cute into a coma.
A life lesson that can be taken from this episode is: there’s always time and opportunities for a relationship to be fixed. Chandler has always had mostly negative relationships with both his parents, but that doesn’t mean he has completely given up on them. Chandler has many personal issues, but his relationship with his parents and the fact that his father is a woman have had some of the biggest impacts on him as a person. Now, he could have just stopped trying to have relationships with them, but he didn’t because he understands that they are his parents, and no matter what there’s always the possibility of fixing what was previously broken. Specifically in this episode Chandler finally brings up the courage to confront his mother about everything she has done that has hurt him in the past, everything that has made their relationship the roller-coaster that it is. This proves to be a good experience for him, and it does strengthen the bond between them. Throughout the series Chandler is never really good at all the social stuff, but in this episode he proves that even though a relationship may be a tough one, don’t give up on it because there is always room for change and improvement.
The One With The Monkey. As you may have guessed from the title, a monkey enters the lives of the friends as Ross’s pet. This episode is just before New Year’s and the gang makes a pact that none of them will have dates. Obviously one by one each member breaks this promise except for Ross, who ends up bringing his pet monkey, Marcel, instead.
A life lesson that can be taken from this episode is: sometimes even what seems like true love may not work out. Before we get into the nitty-gritty stuff, I just want to say that the way David is introduced is absolutely hilarious and showcases the brilliancy of the writers. I mean, Phoebe is yelling at him for talking during her performance, and then he comes back with saying that she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. These two are totally meant to be together, and they are definitely one of the more genuine couples on the show. Okay, now we can get into the struggles of love. Phoebe and David love each other so much, but sadly David is a scientist who also really cares about his job. He and his co-worker, Max, are supposed to go to Minsk to be able to do more research on their project but, initially David (with the help of Phoebe) decides to stay because he’s too in love. This is such a sweet decision and it definitely strengthens their relationship, but it begins to tear apart David’s career as well as his relationship with Max. Phoebe sees this problem, and even though she really wants him to stay, she tells him that he should go to Minsk because his work is very important. The moment they share before David has to leave is beautiful and heartfelt, and it totally breaks our hearts as well as theirs. They didn’t break up because they weren’t in love, they broke up because careers are important too, and David had been working really hard to get the grant so he and Max could go to Minsk. Even though this is probably true love, the relationship didn’t work out and it was honestly sad to see, but the decisions they made were probably the right ones with respect to their futures.
